Finished my log cabin Beatrix Potter quilt top!!!

Hi everyone, I have been working hard the last two days finishing the log cabin Beatrix Potter quilt top. I just love it. This is definitely one of my favorite quilts I've made so far. You can see a close-up of the blocks in my first post about this quilt. It was supposed to be a baby quilt. But it is definitely a lap size quilt. My daughter asked me why I always make my baby quilt so big. I just told her.....I can't help myself. I just keep getting inspired and come up with more ideas, then end up with a lap size quilt. I kind of create as I go. Which can be a problem sometimes. Not having fully developed the plan ahead of time, I often either run out of a certain material, or just, just have enough. Oh well!!! I love this one. I think I'm going to have it professionally quilted. I worked really hard on this quilt and don't want to ruin it with my quilting. I don't feel like quilting it by hand either. Quilting is always a big stress for me. I love making the tops. I could make quilt tops, and just do that. But I also like to finish my projects. I also have to keep my stress level down...since it's really affected my health lately. So, I'm getting it professionally quilted. I'm excited. I can't wait to have it all done. This quilt is a gift for my brother and his wife who are soon to have their first baby. I'm going to make a matching bag with the leftover fabrics. These pictures just don't do this quilt top justice. It looks much better in person. I hope you all like it.

Happy Stitching!!!

Oh my goodness Ariane, that is fabulous! I don't blame you for getting it professionally quilted....I'm like you, I love the piecing part...I just did my first free motion quilting last week....lots of mistakes but I learned a lot too. I have 2 more waiting to be quilted and have started this zig zag top so soon I'll have 3! I can't afford to send it to be done so I guess I best get better at it!:)
I just love how you did the border....lucky, lucky baby!:)

I have a couple questions...
- how much does it generally cost to get a quilt professionally quilted?
- is that a little hedgehog in the corner?

i love this quilt... cute!! the colors and the pattern are great!!

What a darling quilt! I think the hedgehog is so cute. Did you know they have a hospital for injured/sick hedgehogs in England called St Tiggywinkles? Ann :)

This is a gorgeous quilt and I agree with everyone about the darling hedgehog in the corner. I would never have thought of doing a Beatrix Potter log cabin like this, and I love it! Thanks for the inspiration and for visiting my blog.
