More Needle cases, a winner, and mail!!!!

Hi everyone!

I have a day off again.

Yeah!!!!

I made three more needle cases this morning.

I used 5 inch hexagon flower blocks to make these.

When I need a little hand sewing project to relax,

I often sew little hexagon flowers out of scraps.

So, I decided to use these for needle cases.

I used the same directions as my tutorial found here.

I just used hexagons instead.

These will be donated.

I also received some wonderful mail yesterday.

These were both wins from the Quilting Blogger's Giveaway Day.

The first is a beautiful piece of hand dyed fabric from Laura Krasinski.

She is a fibre artist.

Isn't the fabric gorgeous!!!!

Then, I got some sweet handmade buttons,

It's beautiful out today.

It's like a spring day.

Look at what I saw peeking through the ground this morning.

It's February 17th. 

There should be at least a foot of snow on the ground,

and be -20 degrees Celsius.

But, we have no snow.

And it's +4 degrees celsius.

So strange!!!

I know you probably don't here this often,

but I miss winter.

We haven't really had a winter this year.

We are missing out on all the fun winter activities to do.

Like build snowmen and forts.

Go sliding, skating outside....

It's just been wet and muddy and dirty.

Well, enough about that.

Thanks to everyone who commented for this giveaway.

It was fun to celebrate together.

Now that I have a few days off work,

I will be able to get a bit of sewing and house cleaning done.

I just wanted to share with you a little blogger tip:

I wanted to add numbers to my comments.

But, I didn't want to mess around in my html blog codes.

I went onto blogger forum for some help and found this code that you just add like a gadget on your template.

So easy!!!!!

Add an HTML/Javascript gadget to your blog, leave the Title blank and paste the code into the Content area:

The code can be found here.

Then, you save. That's it!!!!

Now, it only counts up to 200, then starts at 1 again.

But, I have asked the question to see how the code can be updated to have unlimited numbers.

When I get a response, I will let you know.

This is definitely the easiest way to add comment numbers.

If you change the template on your blog, it does not have to be re-inputed because it's a gadget.

I had comment numbers on my blog before, but lost them when I was changing templates to update my blog.

It was a pain to try to get them again, so I didn't do it for a while.

But now that I have found this way, it's so easy.

Anyone can do this one.

So, go ahead and add numbers to your comments.

Congratulations!!!

 

Go check out Jorie's blog, Beautiful Chaos. She is a young Mom who just had a little baby girl at the beginning of Sept. and also has the cutest little 2 yr old boy. Adorable little family.

I made it through my two 12 hour night shifts. I'm still pretty exhausted. But I'm off this weekend and hopefully can catch up on the stuff that needs to be done around the house and work on finishing more projects.

I got my GO! Cutter today. Yeah!!!!!

I received two of the three dies that I'm supposed to get. I'm still waiting for the Dresden Die.

I've got a project almost done, using the GO! Triangle-Isosceles die.

It's a little fall table runner.

I will have the tutorial for you tomorrow.

I love to quilt and hope to make many more in the future. I also love that my daughter has wanted to quilt with me. It is so much fun to have that time together.

I also finished my Sunday Best quilt top. I decided to make it into a twin size quilt. I used my stash and I love the way it turned out. So, now I need to figure out what to do for the backing. I don`t usually buy big pieces of fabric, so I am not sure if I am going to piece a back or go out and buy some fabric. So, here it is....

I also received my potholders from the Potholder Pass Swap. This was a really fun swap. My partner Trisha sent the most wonderful potholders and a gift for my daughter too.  She sent my daughter two fat quarters and a pattern. She was so thoughtful. Thank you so much Trisha.

Another little bag!!

I hope everyone had a good day. I did a lot of running around today. But this morning I sewed another little bag. I took a picture of the two bags together. Don`t they look cute!!!

When I did my 1 year anniversary giveaway, I drew two extra names. I did not know what I was going to give them. So I made these two little bags. I hope Deb and Lisa like them. They are really cute. I had a lot of fun making them. I put them in the mail today.

I decided since I had such a rotten week, a great way to make me feel better is to share a bit more with others.
