More Needle cases, a winner, and mail!!!!

Hi everyone!

I have a day off again.
Yeah!!!!

I made three more needle cases this morning.
I used 5 inch hexagon flower blocks to make these.
When I need a little hand sewing project to relax,
I often sew little hexagon flowers out of scraps.
So, I decided to use these for needle cases.
I used the same directions as my tutorial found here.
I just used hexagons instead.
These will be donated.

I also received some wonderful mail yesterday.
These were both wins from the Quilting Blogger's Giveaway Day.

The first is a beautiful piece of hand dyed fabric from Laura Krasinski.
She is a fibre artist.
Isn't the fabric gorgeous!!!!
Thank you so much Laura!!

Then, I got some sweet handmade buttons,
I love them.
Thank you so much!!!!

It's beautiful out today.
It's like a spring day.
Look at what I saw peeking through the ground this morning.
It's February 17th.
There should be at least a foot of snow on the ground,
and be -20 degrees Celsius.
But, we have no snow.
And it's +4 degrees celsius.
So strange!!!
I know you probably don't here this often,
but I miss winter.
We haven't really had a winter this year.
We are missing out on all the fun winter activities to do.
Like build snowmen and forts.
Go sliding, skating outside....
It's just been wet and muddy and dirty.

Well, enough about that.
You are still waiting to here who won my giveaway!!
It's comment #37.

I blogged.

Congratulations Debbie!!!!

I will send you an email.

I hope everyone has been well.
It has been so cold here the last two days.
Freezing.......
Your eyes water and your tears freeze to your eyelashes, it's so cold.
Unfortunately, I've been very busy and haven't had a chance to do much sewing.

Here is a picture of a bag I made a while back and gave to my friend Michelle.

Can't have a post without a photo.

I hope you like it!!

Thanks to everyone who commented for this giveaway.
It was fun to celebrate together.

Now that I have a few days off work,
I will be able to get a bit of sewing and house cleaning done.

I just wanted to share with you a little blogger tip:

I wanted to add numbers to my comments.

But, I didn't want to mess around in my html blog codes.
I went onto blogger forum for some help and found this code that you just add like a gadget on your template.
So easy!!!!!

Add an HTML/Javascript gadget to your blog, leave the Title blank and paste the code into the Content area:

The code can be found here.

Then, you save. That's it!!!!

Now, it only counts up to 200, then starts at 1 again.
But, I have asked the question to see how the code can be updated to have unlimited numbers.
When I get a response, I will let you know.

This is definitely the easiest way to add comment numbers.
If you change the template on your blog, it does not have to be re-inputed because it's a gadget.
I had comment numbers on my blog before, but lost them when I was changing templates to update my blog.
It was a pain to try to get them again, so I didn't do it for a while.
But now that I have found this way, it's so easy.
Anyone can do this one.
So, go ahead and add numbers to your comments.

Hugs

A Winner, My Sunday Best quilt top, and more.....

I hope everyone has had a good day. Sorry for taking so long to announce the winner of my giveaway! I wrote all the names on paper and my daughter B-Sew Cute picked the winner. The winner is.................

a good yarn said...

Congratulations Ariane - how marvellous! You're a celebrity now. Ann :-)

I am so glad that Ann won. She comments on my blog all the time. Thank you so much to everyone who commented. I am amazed at all the support you give me. I love to quilt and hope to make many more in the future. I also love that my daughter has wanted to quilt with me. It is so much fun to have that time together.

I also finished my Sunday Best quilt top. I decided to make it into a twin size quilt. I used my stash and I love the way it turned out. So, now I need to figure out what to do for the backing. I don`t usually buy big pieces of fabric, so I am not sure if I am going to piece a back or go out and buy some fabric. So, here it is....

I also received my potholders from the Potholder Pass Swap. This was a really fun swap. My partner Trisha sent the most wonderful potholders and a gift for my daughter too.  She sent my daughter two fat quarters and a pattern. She was so thoughtful. Thank you so much Trisha.

Well, that is all for today.......

Another little bag!!

I hope everyone had a good day. I did a lot of running around today. But this morning I sewed another little bag. I took a picture of the two bags together. Don`t they look cute!!!

When I did my 1 year anniversary giveaway, I drew two extra names. I did not know what I was going to give them. So I made these two little bags. I hope Deb and Lisa like them. They are really cute. I had a lot of fun making them. I put them in the mail today.

I wish everyone a wonderful evening.

Congratulations on your 200th post and 1 year of blogging. One of the best parts about blogging for me has been meeting you. The prize that I would like best is the tote made by you. I do have someone who would fit that table runner perfectly so I would be happy to win it too. Keep on inspiring!

The second prize winner is:

QUILTING IS BLISSFUL, DI said...

time does fly--200 posts are great and l year anniversary at the same time==way to go!!!!
I would love either gift--soooo!!!!
see ya soon--
Hugs, Di&co.

So since Michelle from Dresden Quilter wanted the bag, that is what she will get. Diane from Quilting is Blissful is getting the Authentic fabric and pattern by Sweetwater. Congratulations!!!

But did I see two more names in that picture???????????

I think so.

I decided since I had such a rotten week, a great way to make me feel better is to share a bit more with others. And since my blog friends are always there for me, I decided to have my daughter draw two more names and I would send them each a surprise gift. It's a surprise because I'm not sure what I'm sending yet. LOL!!!

So the other two winners are:

Lisa @ Life with 4! said...

Congratulations on your 100th post.Happiness is in the eye of the beholder, right? My smile for the day, was my 7 month old puppy. As I was using the hose around the house today, I apparently made a mud puddle. She sprung into it and did this little happy dance. I now have a brown - golden retriever, but couldn't be mad, she was just too happy! On a side note, if your my husband - happiness is the new grill he just finished putting together.Keep Happy and Keep Posting. Thanks
