Quilts Kingston 2012 - part 2

Wow! Another day of Quilts Kingston 2012 has past!!
It's been such a great show.
There are so many spectacular quilts!!

Here are a few more to peak your interest.

This quilt is stunning!!!
The picture does not do it justice.
When you walk up to the quilt, you think it is a panel or a painted quilt.
Then you get close and you realize all the applique and piecing and quilting.
The work in this quilt is so fine.
It's a work of art!!

This is another beautiful bed quilt.
I just love this sampler.
It's great to see all the different blocks work together.

This tiny mini quilt is amazing!!!
The colours are just wonderful and the hand piecing and quilting is too!!
Love, love it!!!

Now for the stunner of the show.
This picture does not do it justice.

We have been honoured to have this quilt part of the show.
Kathie Wylie is the feature artist of the show and has three quilts on display.
This quilt is unbelievably stunning.
I've had to stand guard of this one on Friday and Saturday,
making sure no one touches it with their bare hands.
The texture, and the beauty of the quilting just makes people want to touch it.
The applique is just.....WOW!!!!
People if you can get a chance to come and see this one in person,
it will knock your socks off!!!!!
And for only $6.00 to get in......it's worth it.

Everyone that sees it, is stunned at how beautiful it is.
Most people say they couldn't make this beautiful quilt in a lifetime.

So, tomorrow is the last day.
We are open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Hugs

Quilts Kingston 2012 - part 1

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share a few of my favorite quilts in the show.
I'm just picking a few to share today.
I don't want to ruin it for those who plan to attend in the next two days.

This quilt is gorgeous!
It's by Lesly.
I love the colours and fabrics she chose!

I love this quilt.
I love that it's a sampler quilt and was made from so many different fabrics.
I would like to make a version of this one some day.

When I helped hang this quilt for the show, I gasped!
I was drawn to the tiny, happy little churn dash blocks.
I made me feel very happy.
Then I read that it was made by a group of friends, and it all made sense.
Much love and joy went into this quilt.

Well, that's all for today!

I'll share more tomorrow!

Hugs

Quilts Kingston 2012

Hi everyone,

Today, I spent the day helping hang quilts for the Quilts Kingston 2012 quilt show.
My son Lucas and my daughter Brittany helped me out all day.
We spent from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, hanging quilts.
My husband and my sister Michele came out to help out
in the morning for a few hours as well.

But, I was so impressed with how well the two kids did.
They were so great and really did a ton of work.

If you live in our area, you must come to the show this weekend.
It's at the Royal Kingston Curling Club on Days road.
Such a beautiful facility for this event.
The boutique of handmade goods for sale is just amazing and the merchant mall as well!!!
I'll be volunteering at the show all weekend.

I'm an executive member of my guild
and being that this is the first quilt show that I help out with.....
Let me just say that it's a ton of work, but also rewarding work.
I hope to see you at the show this weekend.

 Hugs
