On another note, yesterday I let my kids use the craft kit my mom gave us when we went to visit them a few weeks ago. It's a nice kit with oil paints, watercolor paints, watercolor pencils, about 30 professional brushes, a bunch of sketch books, and three different kinds of pastels. These are all artist quality items, and are very expensive. But the kids needed something different to do, so I let them use the pastels. They each made two or three pictures. They were very nice. My daughter kept going back to make more pictures. She made about 7 pictures. The last one she made was of a dogs face. It's so nice. I almost couldn't believe she made it. She was sitting at the table, working so hard on it, blending the colors. I thought I should show it to you. Isn't it cute. Well, I have to go. I hope you all have a great day.
Happy Stitching!!

How old is she? Tell her that picture is gorgeous.
Love the colors in your nine patches.
Ariane,
How old is your daughter? This is really impressive! By the way, I totally believe in giving children high-quality art supplies - you're never too young to learn to care for and appreciate quality and sometimes it can help bring out previously talents, don't you think? Big ups to your mom!
Lovely blocks too - I love the pink and green combo.

Wow...she did a really great job with those pastels...I love them...even though it has been a very, very long time since I have messed with them.
I was going to do the 9 patch too but I'm doing the zig zag with the Old Red Barn Co and it is taking every ounce of my brain power to figure out how many squares of each color to cut out since I absolutely have no extra!:) Thanks for sharing.
That's a lovely picture. She has talent. Keep encouraging her. Great start on the nine-patch blocks. Ann :)
Your daughter is extremely talented, just like you. Your 9 patches look great.
Some of her mother's creativity must be rubbing off, your daughter has done a wonderful job!
The nine patches look wonderful -- I love 9 patch quilts but haven't made one myself in a while but I've started cutting some 2.5 inch strips with the idea of making one soon.
Wow! That drawing is amazing! So much talent!
By the way, you are my hero for doing a hexagon star quilt by hand!!! Can't wait to see it!
