What to do with left over hst's?

I had all these left over hst's, and decided I wanted to make something with them.
These were also left over from my "Jack in the pulpit" quilt.

I wanted to make a little project.
Something that could be done in an hour or so.

So, I decided to make potholders.
So, I laid out my hst's until I had a pattern that I liked.

Then I sewed it all together until I had my block.
Then, I got another piece of fabric for the backing that was about an inch bigger all around. I made my quilt sandwich: backing, 2 layers of insulating batting (can't remember the name) and then my block.
Then, I quilted it, and put the binding on.
And Voilà!!

Now, I have a cute little potholder.

I made another one too.
But I used some other scraps as well.
Here it is.

And together, they make a cute pair.

I hope you like them!!

What do you do with your left over hst's?

Hugs

Ariane

Like them? I love them! And they're pretty versatile, too - could be Christmasy, or not!

Love them. I'm going to have to start using pot holders so I can make them and use up my scraps.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

Wow, that's a great block - I don't think I've seen that top one before. I'm going to bookmark that. And, very creative of you to find a use for those hst's!!!

These are really great! I love red and white - such a classic combination. Leftover hst's? I don't usually make extras :0) I love playing with them though - the combinations are endless.

These are all so fabulous. I have a huge pile of them, that I keep telling myself I will make something with them, but I have not yet.
