A bit of Cross-stitching

I thought I would show you the first two cross-stitched pictures I made. The first one was a kit my mom bought. She was going to make it for me when I had my first baby. She never got around to doing it, so she decided to just give me the kit. I have had it in each of my kids nurseries and now it hangs above my daughters bed. I really like the way it looks, even after 13 years.
The next one I did about 2 years later. Unlike the one above which was pre-printed on the fabric, the second one was counted cross-stiching. I got the pattern out of a cross-stitching magazine. The thing I love about cross-stitching is that if you buy all the supplies yourself rather than get a kit, it is very inexpensive. I really like country styles so the next one is very country. I really love it. I have had it hanging in my eat-in kitchen since I've made it.

Your cross-stitch looks very nice. For a while there in the mid 90's it seemed all my friends were having kids at once and I made at least 6 birth samplers, no two alike. It was fun, but it got to be a bit much and I'm not sorry it's over. lol Since I've started quilting again I haven't touched my cross-stitch in months and months, which is really too bad. I see you joined the One Project a Month challenge too, maybe one of my monthly WISP's should be the last cross-stitch piece I was working on. It was a whopper - a giant garden sampler by Theresa Wenzler... maybe I'd better schedule that as my December project to give me plenty of time. lol

Happy Stitching,
Susan

Thank you so much! To be honest I haven't done a cross-stitch in about 10 months. I do have a small one that needs to be finished as well. I should definitly try to get it done as one of my projects.

Your cross stitches are so pretty. I did a lot of cross stitching once, but these days they seem to take so much time, when there are heaps of other things I want to make. The relaxation benefits were great tho.
