Quilt-as-you-go Quilt Along!!!

Hi everyone, I made my first block for the above Quilt Along. Penny from Sew Take a Hike has organized this Quilt Along. I thought it would be great to use up my scraps. My first block turned out a bit wonky. But, that's okay. I kind of like it that way. Now I can start on my second block. Here is the flickr link to our group. My blocks are going to have a mix of modern and traditional country fabrics. A bit of a strange combo, but we will see how it turns out.

it is a strange combo and yet in this block it really works! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!

It looks great! I like the wonky - thought it was part of the design. The transition from light to dark works really well. Ann :-)

I like the wonky look, you just have to make them all wonky now I guess. I think the mixture of fabrics will give it a nice scrappy look. I certainly had a real mix of old and new in my string quilt. Hoping to start my quilt as you go block soon too.

This is gorgeous. I have never tried a quilt as you go along. I am so happy you try everything first!

How fun!! I'm doing a pinwheel sampler quilt along, I'm loving it! Can't wait to see what you do next!
