Quilt Festival - Spring 2009

Hi everyone, Park City Girl is hosting the first ever online Quilt Festival. Click here to see all the wonderful quilts in blogland. My contributions to the quilt festival is my "Tumbling Block" quilt. I made this quilt for my daughter. It is all hand pieced and hand quilted. It is the first quilt that I did inset seams. It was a very big accomplishment when I got it all done. It took me 5 months to do. I really love the way it looks. I hope you like it too. Happy Stitching!

I love this style quilt. Hand quilted. Booyah. I cross stitch, so I understand the hand stitch is relaxing.

This is a beautiful quilt. All that insert seams are a bit scary to me, but I love the pattern! Thank you for your nice visit, too ; )

Beautiful. This is not my favorite pattern to do, although I like the pattern. It's not an easy pattern to do. Yours turned out incredible.

Love your tumbling blocks! Did you use the English paper piecing method? Perhaps I don't understand what inset seams are. This is not an easy quilt to put together. I applaud you for your beautiful work!

Wonderful quilt. Hand pieced, hand quilted... amazing! Inset seams... I have such trouble with those (so I avoid them!). Great job!

The quilt is beautiful! I think you went pretty fast to get it done in 5 months (at least compared to how slow I do hand work).

Love your quilt. I admire that pattern from afar, because I have no idea how one would pick the fabrics to creat the shadowed look. you did a great job.

wow, I could never hand piece -- I have one I've been handquilting allegedly for years, and can't even get that done, so I really can't imagine handpiecing! Thanks for sharing -- great quilt! (and *love* the spring applique for your bag swap down below)

It's absolutely lovely!! Hand piecing makes patterns like this so much easier to achieve.

Love the colours you used.
