A work in progress....

Hi everyone,

Last night I decided that I would start finishing my Dresden Quilt. I wanted to hand quilt this quilt using crochet cotton. I have a lot of crochet cotton. So, I dug through my bin of crochet cotton and found the two colors I wanted to use. I wanted to try a quilt-as-you-go method to put this quilt together.

Sew, I sandwiched my block and started quilting it last night. It is definitely more difficult to hand quilt using the crochet cotton. But the effect is definitely worth it. What do you think??

I'm almost done quilting this block.
Then, I have 11 more blocks to go.

This is my UFO project to complete for the month of February.
So, here's crossing my fingers that I can get it done.

Hugs

Ariane, I just think that using the cotton thread looks stunning. I love the look of the pinkish color around the outside. It really adds alot to your quilting. I never thought of trying this, but I just might have to give it a try. Thanks.

It looks really lovely. Is it hard to pull the crochet cotton through the fabric and batting?

The stitching looks great! It's wonderful to use up your crochet cotton. My guild uses it to tie all of our charity quilts, too. Great idea to quilt-as-you-go. Good luck with the Feb. finish!!

You're a clever one! I've never thought about using crochet cotton to hand quilt. I agree the extra effort gives a big pay off. The quilt looks lovely. I love the pink outline.

I think hand quilting is so relaxing, and it makes an already sentimental quilt even more so!
