Spring Tulips!!!

I was in the mood to make something for spring.
I had been going through my old magazines and found this cute little paper pieced block.
It came from this issue.
It was printed in May 1995.
I bought this magazine at an estate sale last spring.
Twelve magazines for $1.00.
This is what the pattern looks like.
It was to make a vest.
But I'm not into vests.
A mini quilt is more my taste.
This is a fun little block to make.
I really had fun working on it.
Now I just have to make the scrappy border.

I hope you like it!!

Hugs

I certainly like the direction that you took the pattern in (the vest really doesn't do it for me either!). Your material choices are great too.

Wonderful piece and beautiful tulips. I like going through the old magazines, sometimes the old patterns are fun to redo.

Ohhhhh--I heart those tulips--how pretty you made them--I keep saying that I am going to do a tulip quilt someday--only someday doesn't seem to have come yet for me!!!!
I love the colors you chose to make them in toooo!!!!
and I love old magazines too--maybe I will go grab some from my pile to look through when I get off here!!
then again--maybe I shouldn't by the looks of my to finish and want to do lists!!!!

They are definitely cute little blocks! and I recognised them straight up! they are a Carol Doak Foundation pattern. I'm not into vests either, but her patterns are wonderful and lend themselves to all projects. I have several of her books and belong to her on-line yahoo group. I love the fabrics you chose on the white background, very fresh!!! Nice work!!!
