Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted on my blog. To be honest, I haven't had the best of health.
I haven't done any sewing or quilting since September 2018.
That's a long time. I miss it!!!
I have done some crafting. I've done crocheting and a bit of knitting.
Mostly I crocheted.
I found it very relaxing, portable, and easy enough that I could do it even when I had very little energy. This satisfied my creativity enough to keep my spirits up.
Here are pictures of a few shawls that I completed. I've made many, many more than this. But, I just wanted to share a few.
This burgundy shawl is made using Loops and Threads Woolike in Burgundy.
I really love this shawl. The yarn is 100% Acrylic. It's a fine fingering weight yarn. Super soft to wear around your neck, especially if you have wool sensitivity. I love it.
This shawl is the Klaziena Shawl by Kirsten Bishop. You can find the pattern on Ravelry. It is also a free pattern. The yarn I used is Cakes Cotton Fine Yarn by Ice Yarns, in the Brown shades/Cream shades. I used two cakes. This yarn is 50% cotton and 50% acrylic. It's so comfortable.
This shawl is the Supreme Court Shawl by Lori Kuehl. This is a paid for pattern you can buy on Ravelry. I tested this pattern. It's a huge shawl. I made mine with Berroco Vintage Yarn. This shawl gets a lot of wear at my house. The yarn is warm and cozy. The shape sits well around the shoulders and doesn't fall. You will find me most nights wearing this shawl when I'm watching tv. I love it.
This is my Waroo shawl designed by Deanne Ramsay of Addidae designs. I used various hand dyed fingering weight yarns to make this shawl. All the yarns were 75% merino wool and 25% nylon. This is also a favorite shawl of mine. I always get compliments when I wear this shawl. It's a paid for pattern on Ravelry.
This over-sized scarf is called Ziggy Interrupted designed by Sandra Paul @ Cherry Heart. I tested this pattern for Sandra. It's a paid for pattern. The yarn I used it Merino Gold by Ice Yarns. It turned out beautifully. I really enjoyed making it and love the colours. Those little tassels add so much to this scarf. I love it.I need to make another one of these with some hand dyed yarns.
I also made this beautiful lace shawl. It's the Fluttering By pattern by Sandra Paul @ Cherry Heart. I also tested this pattern. It's a paid for pattern. I used Drops Lace yarn to make it. This yarn is really luxurious, but the price is still very good. It was my first time using yarn with silk and it was slippery!!! But I love it. I made this shawl in a thicker yarn as well. Loved this pattern.
Well, that's enough sharing for today.
Now, I need to get looking at my quilting fabric and my old projects. Maybe I can find something to finish. Or maybe I'll make a small project to get me back into the swing of things. I still have all my stuff.
Hope you are all well.
Hugs
