My quilt guild BOM quilt.

Hi Everyone,

I designed the scrappy sampler quilt especially for the Limestone Quilters Guild.
We are doing this quilt as this years BOM.
It's more like a several blocks per month endeavor. LOL!
But, I've had really good feedback from people who are planning to make this quilt.
It's my first time doing a pattern for others, so it's been a bit nerve wracking.

We had our first BOM Sew Day yesterday.
We were nine ladies all together.
I gave demonstrations on how to use the rulers to make the blocks and how to put the blocks together.
We talked about fabric and color selection, fabric placement and value.
I gave tips on getting an accurate 1/4 inch seam allowance.

It was interesting to share my perspective on sewing a scrappy quilt.
It was fun to share with the ladies and they were very encouraging. Phew! I made it through.

Because I'm doing these demonstrations, I'm making more blocks.
I don't really want to make this quilt again.
So, I'm going to use my blocks to make table runners.

These are the blocks I demo'd yesterday.

My plan is to make a few more of these blocks to make the table runner.
I've already starting cutting for a few more blocks.
It shouldn't take me long to make them.

My Scrappy Sampler quilt is done!!

Hi everyone,

I have another finished quilt to share with you.
It's my Scrappy Sampler quilt.

I'm really happy with this quilt.
This is my original design. I used all fabrics from my stash for the front and the binding.
The backing fabric is a wide backing that I purchased at a local quilt store.
I quilted it on my Janome 1600p-db sewing machine with an all over swirl design.
This quilt is a large twin size finishing at 76"x92".

I'm excited to have it done and to be able to catch-up on some other projects that I've started.
I hope you like it!!

My Scrappy Sampler Quilt is a flimsy!

I'm so glad to finally share this finished quilt top. Considering I designed this in March of this year and I have a top done is pretty good for me. I have about 20 quilt designs that I've never made into quilts yet.
This quilt is bigger than I have thought it would be. I really like the size. I love big quilts. It's definitely a bed quilt and will make a great twin size quilt with lots of overhang for today's thick mattresses.
Here's a photo that I took in the morning with more daylight.

I've been working night shifts this week. I don't work nights very often as I'm usually able to find someone to switch with. But not this week. It a lot more effort for me to get it done, since I was so tired. I was in a time crunch to finish this for Wednesday's guild meeting. I'm introducing this quilt as next years BOM. I won't have it quilted by Wednesday, but that's okay.

I hope you like it.
I've put in a lot of hours on this one, from making the design to writing instructions. Wow it's a lot of work!
