Think Christmas Blog Hop starts Monday!!

Hi everyone!

I've been busy renovating....and have not done a lot of sewing lately.

I'm working this weekend.
Last night I was sick with food poisoning.
I had to stay home from work for the first four hours of my shift this morning because I wasn't well enough.
I still worked the last eight hours of my shift, but it was a struggle.
I work 12 hours shifts.

I'm hanging in there though.

Tonight, I'm just relaxing and spending time with my girl.
Here's a pic we edited together using picmonkey.

Doesn't she look adorable?
I love this program.

I'm participating in the Think Christmas Blog Hop!!
It starts on Monday.
Lesley from The Cuddle Quilter is our Blog Hop Mom!!

You don't want to miss it!!

July 30

See you all there!!

Grade 8 graduation night!!!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all well.

Tonight I attended my DS2's grade 8 graduation.
He is growing so fast.

He looked so great all dressed up in a suit.

He is just 13, but soon to be 14.
I can't believe he will be in high school next year.
Where has the time gone.

He likes to pose for the camera.
Here's a few more shots.

I'm so proud of him.
He is such a great kid.

Congratulations Brad!!!

A new baby in the family, and a trip home!!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, my niece had a beautiful baby boy.
So now I'm a great aunt.
Isn't that exciting!!!

He is so beautiful!!!

Also, I had to drive back to my home town this week,
because we had a sudden death in the family.
It's always hard when you lose someone you care about.

But, one good thing was that I was able to see my parents.
I hadn't seen them in about 8 months.
They live about 8 hours away.

I took some pictures of my parents garden.
They live in Northern Ontario, so their growing season is a bit later then ours.

I always find it so restful to go there.
They have such a beautiful home and gardens.

It's been a week of mixed emotions, with some really sad times and really happy times.
But, I keep moving on through my days, and hopefully will have some quilty projects to share with you soon.

Just one of those days.......

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all having a good day.
I had to work yesterday and today.
Still not feeling that great.
One more day to go, then I get to relax again.

I had an okay day today at work.
I did good until about 5pm, then I got the worst coughing attack.

You know the kind that makes you want to pee your pants.
Yeah! That kind.
Remember, I'm at work now. I'm coughing.
Oh no!
I run to the washroom, still coughing.
Oh no!!!!
Make it to the washroom.
My partner is running behind me, he asks: "Are you okay? Are you chocking?"

I'm like.....Oh no!!!!
I lock myself in the washroom.

He yells"...If your chocking...I can't save you if the door is locked."

I yell back".....I'm going to pee my pants."

"Oh!!!!" he said...."You're going to be okay?"

"Yep!".... still coughing.

So, I made it. But barely.
I'm in there coughing for about 5 minutes straight.
I hold my breath.....no coughing.
Okay....I can't hold my breath all night.
I take a drink.
More coughing.
Man....what am I going to do?

Finally, I manage to relax and stop coughing.

About half an hour later....again....another coughing attack.
Ughhhhhh!!!!!
Run to the washroom again.
By now, my partner knows better to follow me.
He doesn't want to follow me into the washroom.

I'm in there another 5 minutes.
Relax.
I decide..... I can't talk, laugh, barely breath, until my shift ends at 7pm.
By about ten after 6, I'm better.
But...Man! Oh! Man!
What a rough time I had.

I hope to feel better tomorrow.

Well, since I hate having a post without pictures.

Here are pictures of my dogs that my daughter took.
I hope you like them.

Charming Girls Club finishes for July & August.

I joined the Charming Girls Club and tried to get lots of stuff done this July and August. I made most of my goals. Some didn't get done, but what can I do. It was so busy with going to Northern Ontario, and spending the month of August at the cottage, and working........You girls know how it is. Here is the list I posted for things I wanted to get done.

1 - Spend more time with the kids having fun!!! I should be able to do this easily since we are going away next week on a holiday, then going to the cottage in August. Can't wait!!! I definitely got this done. We had so much fun visiting with our relatives in Northern Ontario. We had such a great time. Then we went fishing and roasted marshmallows, weiners over the campfire. Played so many card games and sang songs as my husband played guitars.

2 - Find a least 2 nights for just me and the hubby to go out on a date. My husband and I did get some time alone together in August. We went out for dinner and just relaxed and watched a movie. We had a few nights, no kids, no dogs at home. Those were really the best nights. Sometimes the best date is one where you can just relax and spend time together with no interuptions.

3 - Finish organizing my new sewing room. It is so disorganized right now. Well, it was organized.....LOL!!! But you know how long that lasted.

4 - Finish my Jack-in-the-Pulpit quilt. Yes, I got this one done. Whohoooo!!!! My girlfriend loved it.

5 - Finish my Between Charming Friends quilt and help my daughter finish her quilt too! Well, I got my quilt top done, but not quilted. My daughter was gone to camp all of August so she didn't get to work on hers. Hopefully soon!!

6 - Quilt my Picnic quilt. Nope! Didn't do this!! Oh well....maybe this month.

7 - Take a walk at least 3 days a week. I'm so out of shape. I've got to get off my butt. I did do my walks. But I need to do more. I have to keep working on this one.

8 - Spend less time on the computer and more time with the family or working on a project. Well, I did spend A LOT LESS time on the computer this summer. I was away at the cottage or working and only got to sneak in a few minutes here and there to check my emails, and do a short blog post in between my work shifts. I spend a lot of time with the family this summer. I didn't get to work on too many projects, but that's okay. Once school starts next week, I will have more time.

So all in all, I think I did pretty well.

A beautiful day at the football field!!

Hi everyone! Today I spent the day at the football field. My oldest played in the regional finals with his Junior High School Team. My sons team won the finals. It was a very close game, but the team played very well. It was a real nail bitter. The weather was amazing. A perfect day to be outside and spending time with the family. It was very exciting. As you can see in the photo above, the boys were very happy about their win. I hope you all had a great day.

Happy Halloween!

The kids went out for Halloween tonight. It was cold, windy and a bit wet. But my two youngest got lots of treats, while my oldest helped hand out candies. Above is a picture of my daughter in her Vampire costume. I made the little dress. It was more difficult then I expected. But I love the way it looked on her. The middle picture is a plaster mask that my second oldest made out of plaster at school. The third photo is of my second oldest. He is giving a fierce look in this picture. But when he gave his smily eyes, he looked more like a comedian. The wig and mustache made him look older. They all had fun even if the weather wasn't great. Wishing you all a safe Halloween.

More pictures from my weekend

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great day. I worked today and now I'm going to relax a bit this evening. I wanted to share with you a few more photos of my weekend. My parents had just hatched some little chicks. They were so cute. My kids just loved them. They had 17 little chicks. They are so cute. They grow so fast. Everyday you can see changes in their appearance. It's quite wonderful. My parents live in the country by the lake. There house overlooks the lake. It's really peaceful, as they only have one neighbors close by. My Mom has lots of perennial gardens. I always love to see the plants. I love it there. Here are some pictures of just a few of her spring flowers.
I hope you all have a great night. I might get a little bit of sewing in tonight, but it all depends how I feel. I have to work tomorrow, so I will need some rest. That's all for today!!!
Happy Stitching!!

Spring flowers in my garden

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. I thought I would show you some of the flowers from my garden. Gardening is another one of my passions. So I'm always excited when spring arrives. My garden is just in the beginning stages. When I bought my house, the people before had taken all the plants out. The house is almost 40 years old and had only a few perennials when we moved in. So I've slowly added them as I can afford it. Here are a few that I planted last year and are in bloom this spring. I hope you like them.
Happy Stitching!
