Bloggers Quilt Festival Fall 2016

Hi everyone,

I have just finished this quilt this afternoon. This one has been in my UFO pile since March 2011. I'm very excited to have it all done. This is a sweet baby quilt sampler that I designed. I used the fabric itself as the inspiration.
I free motion quilted this on my domestic sewing machine. I have an Elna Lotus machine that my mom gave me a few years back. It's a great little machine, but it hates free motion quilting. I made it work, and got it done though.

This quilt is 37.5 inches wide by 43.5 inches long. I backed it with a super soft flannel.

I'm so glad to have this UFO off my list. Now, I have a finished baby boy quilt ready to go in case I need a gift.

Here's another UFO I'm trying to finish

After I finished my Sun Down quilt top, I started pulling fabric for another project. As I was going through my stuff, I kept finding more UFO's hiding amongst my fabric. I just couldn't start something new when I had so many projects waiting to be finished. So, I decided to work on a baby quilt that I started in 2011. I didn't share much of this quilt on the blog. I only posted one block on March 17, 2011. I had the quilt top assembled. But I had three empty white blocks that were meant to have applique. So, on Sunday I added Applique to two of those blocks. I couldn't decide on what to do in the third block. So, I decided to just start quilting it and I would leave that block until last. It's partially quilted now. Here's what I looks like.
This picture is pretty dark. I tried to lighten it a bit. See that one empty white block. I just don't know what to add there. Maybe the word, fun or play. I'm not sure. If you have any ideas let me know. I want to get this one done and off my UFO list.

I finished a UFO!!! Yeah!!!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.
I'm very excited to share a finish with you.
This is an old UFO from 2010.
I was participating in the Year of Schnibbles at the time and this was the February pattern.
I made mine a twin size quilt.
My three kids were in twin size beds at the time, so I thought it would be great to have another quilt this size. Too bad I never got it done. They are all in bigger beds now.
This quilt is not my best work. The piecing isn't perfect. But, I still love it.
I decided to quilt it very simply with straight lines on either side of the seams.
This quilt measures 66.5 inches x 94 inches long.
It will make the perfect cuddle quilt for my tall sons.
The backing fabric is a cotton twill that was given to me years ago.
Its soft and matches perfectly the colour scheme, so I decided to use it and get it out of my stash.

I'm so glad to have another UFO off my list.
On to pick the next UFO to work on.

Hugs

UFO Challenge 2011

Patchwork Times

Judy from Patchwork Times is having a UFO challenge.

Okay, I wasn't going to officially join this challenge.
But, hey, why not, right?
I have so many UFO's to finish.
Might as well have some incentive.
So, here is my list.

1. My Hexagon Star quilt.
For this one, I just want to have all the top pieced. Since this is a hand pieced quilt top and it's queen size. I already have 9 rows done, but some are not sewn to the main body yet. There are 15 rows of 17 stars for this top.

2. My Sundays Best quilt.
This quilt top is done. It just needs to be sandwiched and quilted. This is a twin size quilt.

3. My Shabby Roses quilt.
This is a wall hanging quilt. It need to be hand quilted.

4. My Sew Modern Bee quilt
I have the last border almost done on this top. Then it needs to be quilted.

5. My sister's quilt
I have to put the top together, then quilt it.

6. Between Charming Friends quilt.

The top is done, it just needs to be quilted.

Completed January 2011!!!!
7. My picnic quilt.
This is a small quilt. It just needs to be quitled.

8. My Gifts of Grace quilt.
I have 5 blocks completed, and two blocks almost done, 2 blocks that need to be started.
I hope to have this quilt top done and this quilt quilted.

9. My Summer blues quilt.
This is going to be a queen size quilt. I have most of the blocks done. I just have 5 more blocks to make and put the top together and get it quilted. Should have this one done in know time.

10. My Summery Dresden quilt for the Maple Leaf Bee.
I still don't have all the blocks back for this one. But I should soon.
I hope to have this top made. If it gets quilted, that's a bonus.

11. To hand quilt my hexagon star quilt.
If she picks #11, before #1, then I will defer to #1 as the quilt top is not done  yet. Then I'll just switch them numbers.

12. My Rocky Road to Kansas quilt.
I have 6 blocks done. 6 more need to be made. So, I just want to get this top done. If I can quilt it too, that's a bonus.

Disclaimer: If I have extra time to finish one of these projects earlier than I will. I'm sure I will have other projects pop up through the year. So, if I do finish some early, then I will replace them with the new project.

Okay, So that's it. I have lots of projects that I want to start. And lots of fabric that I want to buy. But my husband wants me to use some of the fabric I have first before I buy more. My sewing room is going to burst from all the fabric. So, I plan on getting these done and also making some charity quilts with some of my fabric. That should help reduce my fabric stash.

Wish me luck!!

Hugs
