Hi everyone!
I hope you are all well.
I didn't show you one of the bargains I got on the weekend at the garage sales.
I went to this one house that was having an estate sale.
All the contents of the house were for sale.
I walk into the garage and the first thing I see is a wooden sewing machine case.
I just had to look.
It was a beautiful black vintage singer.
I immediately plugged her in and she worked.
The price was $10.
I decide to go through the house to see what else was available.
Nothing interested me.
But, I had to buy this machine...and for that price, it was a great deal.
She came home with me, and weighed a ton.
I just got a chance to test her out this afternoon.
I looked up the serial number and she was made in 1950.
I had to look up how to thread her.
Then, I was having bobbin tension issues.
But, it only took about 20 minutes and she was running smoothly.
I made a few blocks with her the afternoon.
I'm in love with her!!
She is a beaut.
Hugs

What a marvelous score! I keep seeing those estate sales but can never get there - one of these days I WILL! Fingers crossed!
She's a beauty! Congratulations!
She's beautiful, Ariane! Enjoy every stitch.
Goodness gracious what a deal! Enjoy!! :-)
Looks like you have scored a coveted Singer Featherweight for an unbelievable price! And that blue ring around the emblem indicates it is a centennial model. Hard to find them for less that $350! Way to go!
oh but it can't be a Featherweight because you say it weighs a ton. Still a gorgeous find though!
10 BUCKS!!!
That's amazing! You lucky girl!
Wow! What a DEAL! And what a beautiful machine!!!
OMG! FANTASTIC!!
Very cool. I have one too but am missing the leather belt for the treadle : ) Enjoy
Great purchase... Enjoy
Did the machine come with a domed case? It looks like it has been wired for a Foot Pedal. Mine needs the knee lever. I paid more than $10 for it and can't use it until I find a replacement. That is a great deal!
Wow isn't she gorgeous! You really had a good day bargain hunting.
Wow!!! What a find! Hope you have many, many hours of happy quilting on her.
You are one lucky girl! Can't wait to see your next project!
The best $10 you will ever have spent!!!! I have one similiar, same decals, but mine in a 99-13 model, knee control, and was made in 1939. No reverse either, by the looks of yours it may not reverse stitch? It's in beautiful condition, if you're anything like me you will want to sew with her all the time. Use the best machine oil to maintain her and she will give you years of faithful service - congratulations on this fine purchase!!!!
Congratulations! I have always wanted one of these!
You just found the deal of the year :) How smart you were to continue looking in the house!
Don't work too hard :)
What a beautiful sewing machine and what a steal! Did it have a bentwood case? Congrats!
