An update and a quilt top!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well.
My husband is still in a long term care bed.
He will not be able to come home until the end of August or early September.
He had a serious pelvic and left hip injury.
His pelvic injury is not healing well.
He may need surgery again.
But we are hoping it doesn't come to that.
He had a cast on his left wrist.
He had surgery on his wrist as well, but it is healing well and he had his cast removed last week.
He still doesn't have full strength of it yet.
But it's healing we'll.

We are all taking things one day at a time.
It's been hard, but we are surviving.

My daughter made another quilt for a school project.
This one was a group project.
The other kids helped with drawing up the blocks.
Brittany sewed all the sashing around the blocks and sewed the blocks in rows.
I helped by sewing the rows together and putting the borders on.
I took the picture with my IPhone so it's not the best.
I hope you like it!!

My husband was in a serious accident

Hi all, I'm writing today to let you know that I will not be blogging for a while. My husband was in a serious motorcycle accident last night and suffered serious injuries. He spend 7 hours in surgery today. He will need a lengthy recovery. I will be supporting him and my kids during this time. Keep us in your prayers. Hugs Ariane

The dress and apron are all done!

Hi everyone,

I had to make a costume for my daughter's play.
She needed a dress and apron for the play "Alice in Wonderland".
So, I took the challenge and made her a dress.

This is probably the most complicated piece of clothing I have ever made.
But, I'm happy with the way it turned out.
It fits her comfortably, and is decent.
The original pattern has a really low neck line.
So, I had to make that adjustment.
I used the Burda pattern 7556.
I used a polyester to make this dress.
It did have a bit of stretch, but it worked out.
I hope she likes it.
I put a lot of hours into it.

Fabric Postcards and more...

Hi everyone!

Happy Easter!!

Yesterday, I got caught up on my fabric postcard exchange.
I had three postcards to make.

The first one uses a challenge fabric.
The challenge fabric is the the three rectangles.
I used my new Sizzix Big Shot to die cut the flower.

The second card is based on a the Beatles song;
"Here comes the sun"

The third one has a "message"
It says "hello".

I used my Big Shot to die cut the dress form.
This die is from Stampin' Up!
The butterfly and flowers were die cut with dies from My Favorite Things.

I also made two regular cards with the stamps and
designer series paper I bought from Stampin' Up!

I used deconstruction sketch #94 as my inspiration for both these cards.
I find these sketches helps me to have a starting point for my cards.
Otherwise, I have too many options in my brain.

Well, I also sewed a new dress for my daughter.
I can't show it yet.
Maybe tomorrow I'll take a picture of her wearing it.

Hugs
