I have my first finish of 2015!!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited to share with you my finished Summer Dresden Quilt.
These blocks were made for me by the ladies in the Maple Leaf Bee on Flickr. I cut out all the blades for the Dresden blocks using my GO! Cutter then asked the ladies to sew them up for me.

I hand quilted with big stitches and crochet cotton in pink and white.  I'm so glad to have it done. It makes a nice lap quilt.

I hope you like it!

A bit of hand quilting

I've been working at finishing the quilting on my Dresden plate blocks. These were made as part of a bee. I am quilting each block by itself, then sewing them all together as a quilt. I quilted 3 out of 12 blocks this week. I already had 3 blocks done. Now I only have 6 more to do.

I'm back!!!

It's been quite a long time since I've posted to my blog. I stopped quilting completely after my husband had his accident. The only sewing I did was hemming and mending clothing. But a few days ago I decided to take a hand sewing UFO out. You may remember my hexagon star quilt. Well I managed to add two more rows of stars to it this week.

I'm really itching to do some sewing and quilting. It's been over a year and a half since I did any. So I'm back! I'll do a bit at a time. I'm going to try to finish some of my old projects and maybe work on some small new ones just to practice again.

Organizing my craft room.

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well.
This past week, I started putting my craft room back together.
When my husband had his motorcycle accident last April,
all my craft stuff was removed from my room in order to make space for other furniture that had to be moved when my husband came home from the hospital.
Because he is getting better, we have returned a bunch of the medical equipment that he no longer needs. That freed up my craft room again. Yeah!!!
I brought in some new storage units for my craft supplies.
I wanted open storage, so that I could see what I have.

I got a cube storage unit similar to the Expedit unit from Ikea.
It has 16 cubes in it.
I have four of them organized now.

I made some inserts using foam core board to display my paints and threads.
I used this tutorial for my inspiration for those displays.
I also made an organizer for my ink pads.
I got the directions from this tutorial.

I also decorated the top a bit.

Don't you just love those hand carved wooden stamps!!

Well, its getting there.
I still have  lot to organize, but it's a start.
