Hi everyone,
I've finally finish the quilt top that I made for Canada's Big Quilt Bee. They are collecting 1000 quilts to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. It will be given to a sick child that is at one of the Sick Kids hospitals in Canada.
They had wanted slab block quilts. But you know me, I can't just follow instructions. Lol!
Lorna from Sew Fresh Quilts had come to our guild and given a trunk show. Well, I bought six of her patterns. I pulled these out and chose three blocks that I thought would work well.
Then I wanted to add the bounding bunny block by Sally Trude from the blog, The objects of design. This is also such a cute block.
I had to cut one of my slab blocks to make space for the beaver block. But I think the quilt top turned out super cute.
I need to make a backing for it now and quilt it.

Lorna came to our guild too! Her quilts are very fun and I love the way you added her blocks to your slabs for a quilt for a child at a Ronald McDonald house! Great job! This quilt will make someone's day!

I love how that turned out, Ariane! The animals are perfect for a Canada quilt, and the little bits of maple leaf fabric are fun to see here and there!

ReplyDeleteI don't think the child receiving this quilt will mind that there aren't any stars. The fun blocks you've made into such a delightful quilt will be much loved by the child who receives it.

ReplyDeleteI sense a kindred spirit here. I don't always follow directions either! (In fact, hardly ever.) I absolutely love this quilt top you're building, and some child will love it even more.
