RSC 2017 - Week #11 - red

Hi everyone,

I've had a pretty good week.
I did manage to get some red blocks made.
I made 12 plus blocks.

I also made some blocks designed by Sew Fresh Quilts.
I made a raccoon
And a Canadian beaver.
These definitely take more time to make, but they are super cute. I have a special project planned for these.

I also bought a used Janome 1600p-db sewing machine. I only paid $400, which is a steal. I'm so excited about it.
I played around with free motion quilting on it. I had to work at getting the tension right. But I managed to do it. I love being able to make manual adjustments.
I quilted this mini quilt with it.
This mini is 8.5 inches square.
I love how it turned out.
I hope you all had a chance to get some sewing in this week.

Congrats on that new machine. I HATE making manual adjustments! You certainly look like you had great success with your adjustments.

  9. That's a good looking, sturdy machine and being able to make manual adjustments will make quilting easier. Cute mini quilt and quilting. I know raccoons are a pest (a bit like possums here) but they look adorable and they're so clever. Your animal blocks are quite intricate but most effective. More RSC Red in your plus blocks whittling away those scraps.

  17. Congrats on the new machine! I'm sure you'll have fun with it. I love what you've been working on. I need to change how I follow blogs, because my reading list has neglected to show me the last several months of yours and other blogs. I have some catching up to do!
