I did quite well this month with my purple blocks.
I finished 30 spool blocks.
These are 3.5 inch blocks, made from my 1.5 inch strips.
These blocks are so cute. I love these.
I also made four 16-patch variation blocks. These used up 2.5 inch squares, and the block is 12.5 inches.
I really like these blocks and the secondary pattern it creates.
I then decided to start making some 6.5 inch plus blocks. These were also made with 2.5 inch squares and 1.5 inch strips. I only have three of these made. I will need to make more. But that's okay. These are easy and fast to make.
I'm really enjoying participating in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge this year. I hope you like my January blocks. Now I'm excited to see what next months colour is.

Great progress this week on working with purple scraps. Use 'em up!
Oh I'm going to have to remember the plus and 16 patch variations for my next 2.5 inch scrap projects. Love them both.
I like the little spools too but already have a large quilt top of them. But they sure are fun to make.
Great use of scraps!! Lovely blocks!
Your 16 patch variation is wonderful! Great use of your scraps. Those spools are just adorable.
That is a great collection of blocks you've started on, Ariane! The 16 patch variation is really a fun one, especially with the scrappy backgrounds you're using!
Lots of great purple scraps put to great use this month. Congratulations!
The spools and plus blocks are nice, but my favorite is the 16 patch blocks. Someday I'm going to make one of those, but I think 2 projects are enough for this year. Blessings!
Good group of blocks! Good plan to have three - I tried to do six in my first year (EEK!).
Love your blocks. You call the second picture a 16-Patch variation block. I always thought they were made with a Split 9-Patch block. I guess either way it comes down to the same result but I am interested in this 16-Patch. It is a block I want to make so this could be another setting to consider. Thanks for the inspiration. ;^)
Great collection of blocks! I especially like the crosses.
Love those 16 patches! That will be a stunning quilt.
Nicely done!
Awesome blocks!! You’ve got some great scraps.....
Lots of purple variation, so much fun. I keep seeing the 16 patch and variation, might have to pull some small scraps and make some myself.
Nicely done. A great variety of projects.
I think you like purple!!!
love all the blocks and I do see the secondary block with in that one block pretty--
I made me a new purple cat using a different purple--like her much better now!!!
Enjoy the moment-di
What a WONDERFUL selection of PURPLE scraps you used!!!
Great purple scrap blocks!
You are doing a great job with the purples. I love the 16's, so bright and alive.
I adore the spools!! you are making great progress with purples!
You have some great things going on here with your purple scraps! :)
Great blocks! You're going to have some wonderful quilts when all is said and done!
You must have had a lot of purple scraps. All of your blocks are beautiful.
You've been a busy girl stitching up all those purpley lovelies.
The 16 patch variation blocks sure would use up a few purple bits quickly. Can't go wrong with spools. Busy and productive month.
It just keeps getting better and better, I like the spools, and I really like your 16 patch variation and I love the plus signs, the positive/negative is very effective.
Very fun blocks for the RSC challenge. I love your spools!
Excellent scrap blocks! And pretty in purple, every one of them!
I've started making spools myself - such a fun little block, and so easy to keep a pile of bits by the sewing machine for using as a leader/ender.
Lots of pretty purples. I really like the 16 patch variation blocks.
Love all your blocks, especially the 16-patch variation. So much purple! :D
