Snow dreams table topper and progress on Leo’s Mane quilt

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer.
We are in a drought here in Kingston.
There are many forest fires burning in Northern Ontario. I hope those living close to these are safe. We are having some rain this afternoon. Hopefully it continues for a few days.

I managed to finish a table topper this morning.
The pattern is Snow Dreams table topper by Joanne @Canuckquilter

I won this pattern on Joanne’s blog two years ago. I was so glad to win it. Her instructions were amazing. It’s foundation paper pieced. I haven’t done a lot of this. I was very happy that the instructions were easy to follow. I free motion quilted it myself. I just had fun with it.

I used a snowflake plaid for the back.

I hope you like it.

I also wanted to share my progress on my Leo’s Mane quilt designed by Cathy @Eagleswingsquilts

I have a long ways to go on this. But I’m still working on it slowly. It’s all English paper pieced. It’s my current hand sewing project. I do need to sit and prep more pieces though. The problem with making this in Rainbow colours is that I need to have access to all my scraps and stash. A little bit more time consuming. Oh well, it’s going to look great once it’s done. It just may take me a few years. Lol!

Wow! Your table topper is just awesome! You did a great job with it. Love it. Leo's Mane is very interesting. Can't wait to see more of it but I understand : it's hand pieced so it may take a while. ;^)

Your Leo's Mane is fabulous! It seems to glow. It will definitely be worth the time invested. And thanks for your kind review of my table topper pattern. I love how you quilted yours.

The snowflake table topper is beautiful! I have a couple of Joanne's snowflake patterns but haven't made any yet. I'm not a fan of PP, but have done quite a bit of it. Maybe I will try the snowflakes one of these days. Your Leo's Mane quilt is gorgeous. I know how time consuming it is too be looking through small pieces of fabric for that perfect color. But it will be worth it in the long run.

Lovely projects! Hand piecing is very relaxing. I've hardly been sewing at all so far this summer - too many interruptions! I'm trying to get back in the groove again......

Very sophisticated rainbow colors, Ariane. How clever of you to choose these instead of primaries. And who cares if it takes a while. All we'll do is start another so this one should include everything you want for it. Keep up the good work and have fun.
